SWOOP
SWOOP Agency is the student-run, industry-directed advertising agency at the University of North Texas that helps real clients reach, engage, and grow with the YMAC segment. YMAC—Young, Multicultural, and Always Connected—is a highly engaged audience of 18- to 24-year-olds from diverse backgrounds who are deeply connected to the latest trends in media and technology.

Note on Design:
This poster intentionally breaks traditional hierarchy by giving the tagline “WHERE STARTS ARE BORN” near-equal weight to the main event info. The oversized line draws immediate attention to the malapropism (stars vs. starts), reinforces the playful Hollywood theme, and makes the design more effective and readable from a distance.
✅ Intentional malapropism = Using a similar-sounding wrong word ("starts" instead of "stars") for humorous and clever effect.
✅ Double meaning = "Stars" (Hollywood fame) vs. "Starts" (new career beginnings at SWOOP).
✅ Tone = Playful, witty, inviting — perfectly matching the Hollywood-inspired theme of the Open House event.

Spring 2025 SWOOP Open House Campaign
To capitalize on this behavior, SWOOP created NFC-enabled tapcards embedded in VIP-style lanyards, giving students instant access to our Linktree, social media, and application portal. The campaign also included a Hollywood-themed creative concept, personalized handwritten invitations with raffle tickets, and podcast-style promotional Reels.
The result: a 15% increase in open house attendance and an 81% increase in SWOOP applicant enrollment, and successfully expanding engagement to reach students in Business, Marketing, Media Arts, and Communication Design majors.
